For the first time, Delaware CC will have a men's 9 hole golf league every Tuesday evening during the summer months!
You may sign up in various ways: as a single and be paired, 2 players that want to play together or in 3some or 4some. This is the night to meet other members, know that you have a golf game and enjoy your club membership. Individuals are encouraged to sign up in the golf shop and be paired on a team. Play begins May 17th! Here are the basic rules:
Tuesday Night Golf League
1. Up to four players form a team, name a captain and 3 of the 4 play each Tuesday evening.
The captain may create a revolving order or sub within the group as needed.
2. Format is 3 players versus 3 players using the best gross score of the 3 man team.
3. Match play using the difference in team handicap.
4. For speed of play… the closest ball in fewest strokes will putt first and balls that can't help the team's score will be picked up, however, one gross ball for each team must be holed.
5. Scoring is 2 points for winning a hole, 1 point for halving the hole and 4 additional points for team winning the overall match.
6. Team handicaps are adjusted after each Tuesday to reflect the average of how the team plays on an ongoing basis.
7. Team matches will be prescheduled to create a match versus as many teams as possible.
8. Shotgun start each Tuesday night at 5:30 pm.
9. A buffet dinner "on your own" will be offered after each Tuesday's match.
10. Players must designate the color of tee they will be playing from on the first night of the league. After play begins, no changes will be allowed.
11. Prizes will be awarded at the halfway point of the season, the second half of the season and the overall results.
12. Individual entry fee will be $60 and includes prizes and the year end dinner.
13. The golf shop will help with any rules questions and the committee will help with any league questions.
